Specific Arrangements for CEPA
- Hong Kong and Macau service suppliers are permitted to build, alter and operate restaurants, apartments and eateries, in the form of wholly-owned or joint venture, in mainland China
- The joint venture travel agencies set up in mainland China by Hong Kong and Macau travel agencies with majority shareholding, jointly with domestic investment, shall have no regional limitation
- Hong Kong travel agencies will be permitted to set up wholly-owned or joint venture travel agencies in Guangdong Province (GD), in application for the pilot operation of group tourism business for GD residents traveling to Hong Kong and Macau
Requirements for Service Suppliers
- The total annual business turnover shall not be less than USD8 million for setting up wholly-owned travel agencies in the Mainland
- The total annual business turnover shall not be less than USD15 million for setting up joint venture travel agencies in the Mainland
Requirements for Incorporation
- Operating in a fixed location
- Operating facilities necessary for business available
- Registered capital not less than RMB0.3 million
Required Documents
- "Opinions on the Approval for Operation of Foreign-invested Travel Agencies" (《外商投资旅行社业务经营许可审定意见书》) issued by the competent authority of Tourism and Administration of the State Council
- Application for enterprise establishment
- Feasibility study report, together with the documents upon approval by competent authority
- Agreements, contracts and articles of association of the joint venture
- Business license or registration certificate, credit proof and supporting documents of legal representatives of the joint venture
- List of proposed Board members of the joint venture
- "Power of Attorney for Service of Legal Documents" signed by Hong Kong and Macau service suppliers (donor) and recipients of legal documents in the Mainland (donee) shall specify the address and contact details of the donee
